Best 3PL Software in 2026
A third-party logistics operator rarely runs one client the same way it runs the next. One warehouse might hold stock for a dozen shippers at once, each with its own SKU catalogue, labelling standard, and service-level definition, and each billed differently — some on storage, some on pick-and-pack activity, some on a blended rate card. Once an order leaves the dock, the 3PL still owns the promise: dispatching across its own fleet and a mix of parcel and regional carriers, tracking every shipment, and reconciling what each carrier and client owes. 3PL software exists to run that operation without a separate operating model per client: it isolates each tenant’s inventory and KPIs, bills each one accurately, and executes and tracks delivery across mixed carriers.
This guide covers what 3PL software does, what to look for when comparing platforms, and an indicative list of platforms in the space with what each one is and does. The list is not exhaustive; the category has many more players than the ones named here.
Two categories often confused
The term “3PL software” spans two adjacent jobs, and platforms rarely do both equally well:
- 3PL warehouse and fulfilment systems: the warehouse management system (WMS) plus order and inventory management that a 3PL runs inside its distribution centres — receiving, slotting, picking, packing, and multi-client billing.
- 3PL logistics and last-mile execution: dispatch, multi-carrier allocation, shipment tracking, and settlement once an order leaves the building.
Some tools do only one. Extensiv, Logiwa, and Deposco are built around warehouse and fulfilment; FarEye and LogiNext focus on logistics and last-mile execution. A smaller set spans both. Shipsy focuses on multi-tenant logistics execution with per-client billing and SLA management, together with multi-carrier and last-mile.
What 3PL software does
Four functions separate a 3PL platform from a general warehouse or shipping tool.
- Multi-tenant isolation. Inventory, labour, and performance are tagged to the client that owns them, so many shippers can share one footprint without one tenant’s stock, KPIs, or costs bleeding into another’s.
- Per-client billing. Storage, handling, value-added services, and shipping are captured as activity and converted into invoices against each client’s contracted rate card, rather than reconstructed in spreadsheets at month-end.
- Per-client SLA management. Each shipper’s OTIF, cut-off times, and delivery promise are tracked separately, and exceptions are surfaced against the contract they threaten.
- Execution and settlement. Orders are dispatched across own fleet and third-party carriers, tracked end to end, and carrier invoices are reconciled against contracted rates.
What to look for when comparing platforms
The requirements that actually separate platforms in a shortlist:
- Multi-client tenancy. Whether one instance cleanly isolates inventory, labour, KPIs, and reporting per shipper, or whether each client needs a separate configuration.
- Billing model coverage. Support for storage, activity-based, and rate-card billing, and how automatically activity converts into invoices.
- Warehouse depth versus execution depth. Whether the platform is strongest in DC operations, in dispatch and last-mile, or spans both.
- Carrier network and last mile. How many carriers and services, whether an owned fleet is orchestrated alongside them, and how tracking and exceptions are unified.
- Integrations and onboarding. Native connections to ERP, OMS, storefronts, and shipper portals, and how quickly a new client can be brought live.
- Automation and AI. Whether the platform only reports on exceptions or also acts on them — re-slotting, allocating, reconciling, and communicating.

Shipsy
An AI-native logistics platform used by 250+ enterprises across 30+ countries. For 3PLs it runs multi-tenant logistics execution on a single engine: inventory, labour, and KPIs are isolated per client, per-client billing is captured as activity against each contracted rate card, and each shipper’s SLA is tracked separately. Its multi-carrier management allocates, executes, and settles shipments across an own fleet and 240+ integrated carriers, alongside last-mile delivery and shipment tracking. What separates it is AgentFleet, a workforce of purpose-built AI agents that carry out the operational steps rather than only surfacing them: Astra handles driver and routing operations, Clara handles voice-first customer communication, Nexa handles financial settlement, Vera resolves disputes, and Atlas is the control tower that detects SLA risk and routes exceptions — all inside a guardrailed perimeter with role-based access, PII masking, and audit trails on every action.
Key features:
- Multi-tenant execution with per-client inventory, labour, and KPI isolation
- Activity-based per-client billing against contracted rate cards, settled by the Nexa agent
- Per-client SLA tracking and exception detection via the Atlas control tower
- AI order-allocation across an own fleet and 240+ carrier and storefront integrations by cost, SLA, capacity, and service quality
- Standardised tracking, labels, and NDR handling across all carriers, with predictive ETAs via shipment tracking
- WMS for multi-tenant warehouse operations and AI slotting
- AgentFlow to compose agentic workflows on your own SOPs, pre-trained on 250+ enterprise deployments
Bringing it together
The platforms above cluster into a few types. Some are built around warehouse and fulfilment depth — WMS, order and inventory management, and 3PL billing inside the distribution centre. Some are built around logistics execution — dispatch, route optimisation, tracking, and last-mile delivery once the order leaves the dock. Most 3PLs end up running one platform for the warehouse and another for execution, and reconciling the two by hand.
A smaller set treats 3PL operations as one problem, where multi-tenant warehouse management, per-client billing, SLA management, multi-carrier allocation, last-mile delivery, and shipment tracking run on a single engine. The newer shift in this group is agentic AI: instead of a dashboard that flags an exception for a person to work, purpose-built agents carry out the step itself, from re-slotting a warehouse and re-allocating a shipment to reconciling a client invoice. Shipsy sits here, pairing multi-tenant execution and billing with its AgentFleet digital workforce and AgentFlow for custom SOPs. For operations where warehouse, billing, and delivery live in different systems, that consolidation is the differentiator worth testing.
Methodology
This guide draws on publicly available information: each vendor’s own product documentation and public pages, and third-party review and comparison sources. Feature descriptions reflect capabilities as stated by the vendors.
The list is indicative, not exhaustive; the category includes many platforms beyond those named here, and adjacent tools such as NetSuite WMS for ERP-anchored fulfilment, or Locus for last-mile route optimisation, may also come up in a search.
