Transform Logistics with AI-Native Innovation
Join Shipsy as we revolutionize the multi-trillion-dollar logistics industry through our AI-native platform that enables autonomous supply chains. As a Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ recognized leader and “Customers’ Choice” in Transportation Management Systems, we’re driving enterprise transformation for global brands including Heineken, Aramex, Walmart, and Qatar Post.
The Opportunity
As a Strategic Business Development Lead, you will split your time between two things: hunting and closing support. On the hunting side, that means warm and cold outreach into Australia’s large mid-tier and corporate accounts, building and sales-qualifying a pipeline of meetings with senior sales executives. On the closing side, you’ll work alongside Australian Shipsy leadership and the global events team to get those accounts in front of the business and help take deals across the line.
You’ll work closely with senior sales leaders on high-value accounts and be involved early in how enterprise deals are shaped. From identifying the right target accounts at events to setting up the commercial conversations that follow, you will have direct influence on how Shipsy wins in the region. This is a foundational hire for someone who wants real ownership of a market, not just a role within one.
Core Responsibilities
- Events
- Partner with the global events team to plan and host events, and to pull strategic target accounts into them — as one lever among several, not the primary one.
- Select the right logistics and supply chain conferences, plan and execute pre-event activities, drive on-ground initiatives at events, and convert every post-event conversation into a qualified pipeline.
- Deal Support
- Travel to meetings with Australian senior leaders to help move opportunities through to close.
- Generate sales material and account-specific collateral to support those meetings.
- Build a working understanding of Shipsy’s technology and platform, deep enough to represent it credibly in front of a customer alongside senior leadership.
- Strategic Outbound and Pipeline Generation
- Identify and prioritise a target list of large mid-tier and corporate accounts across Australia.
- Run warm and cold outreach across LinkedIn, phone, and email — using this as a route through an account, not a numbers game — to work past initial contacts and reach the senior sales or commercial executive who can actually sponsor an enterprise-level decision.
- Qualify inbound and self-sourced leads to a genuine sales-qualified standard before handing off internally.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of meetings for Australian senior leadership, with clear account context going in.
Your Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a BDM or similar hunting role, carrying a target for self-sourced pipeline. This is not an entry-level hire; we are looking for someone who has done this before and has the scars to show for it.
- Skilled at working through an account’s contact structure via cold calling, LinkedIn, and email to find and reach the senior stakeholder who can sponsor the decision. This is about precision and persistence in navigating an enterprise account, not outbound volume: Shipsy is an enterprise, end-to-end system, so the sale only moves once a senior stakeholder is genuinely engaged.
- Comfortable engaging senior sales executives and decision-makers directly, including face-to-face.
- Experience supporting or shadowing senior stakeholders through a sales cycle to close, not just generating first meetings.
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS, logistics, or supply chain technology is a strong plus, not a hard requirement.
- Willing to travel within Australia for client meetings and events.
- Comfortable working closely with a global events and marketing team as one part of a broader hunting remit.
What’s in it for you?
At Shipsy, we’re building the future of logistics technology and we believe Australia is one of the most exciting markets to do it in. This is a foundational role in the region, with real scope to shape how Shipsy grows across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
- You’re joining at a pivotal moment. Australia is a strategic priority for Shipsy and this role sits at the centre of that growth. You’ll have a real say in which events we attend, which markets we go deep on, and how we show up in front of enterprise buyers.
- Your work has a clear commercial impact. Every event you run, every meeting you set up, every account you map connects directly to the pipeline. You’ll see the results of your work in real time, not six months later in a spreadsheet.
- You’ll work alongside a global team. Daily collaboration with Sales, Demand Generation, and GTM teams across Australia, India, and Southeast Asia. You’ll learn how enterprise buyers think across markets, not just one.
- A culture built on ownership, not oversight. High standards and clear accountability, with the autonomy to get the job done your way. We care about outcomes, not hours on a calendar.
- Upside tied to what you actually deliver. A transparent incentive structure linked to event performance and pipeline impact. You’ll always know how your work translates into reward.
