About the role

The Deployment Strategist is the on-site product detective. You live inside one of our strategic customer accounts — alongside a Forward Deployed Engineer and under an Engagement Manager — with one job: figure out what the customer actually needs, and make sure we deliver it.

This role is modelled on Palantir’s Echo — a function the industry has spent a decade trying to recreate. You are part product manager, part management consultant, part industry analyst. You translate a messy, human, operational reality into a clear problem statement. Then you work with your FDE partner to ship the solution that solves it.

Organisational context

You sit inside a pod — typically one Deployment Strategist, one or two Forward Deployed Engineers, and a Support & Training lead — led by an Engagement Manager who owns the customer outcome. You report to the Engagement Manager on your account, with a dotted line into the regional Senior Director, Customer Solutions for career development.

Travel is significant — expect 40 to 60 per cent of your time on-site with your customer. For the rest, you are in Shipsy’s regional office with the other DSs in your region, swapping patterns and stress-testing each other’s roadmaps.

The progression is direct: strong DSs move into Engagement Manager roles within 18 to 30 months. This is the training ground for Shipsy’s partner-track leadership.
